3 Most Important Lessons I Learned!

5/13/2017

Hey Guys!  It's Aron back here doing another blog.  With about  2 weeks left of school, this weeks blog we were asked what were 3 things we learned throughout the overall year!  So, let's get right into it!
First off all, procrastination!  You're probably thinking, haven't you've learned your lesson about procrastination already?  My answer, It will almost be impossible for me to defeat procrastination.  That's because, no matter what, I always end up doing work at the last minute.  But that's another reason why I enjoy media, it's because it pushes me to do my best and produce quality work.  So, I'm still learning slowly how to not procrastinate and one day I'll never come across that word again.
Next, I learned how to public speak.  Again, another common trouble that I have in my life.  Ever since the day we started to do morning announcements, my classmates and I had to learn how to be comfortable speaking in front of the camera.  Since the first day I announce, my legs were shaking and there were drops of sweat coming down my head.  But as I practiced and kept announcing, I learned how to stay focused and become more comfortable in front the camera.
Finally, I learned how to become a supportive and helpful mentor.  This year was the first year I was assigned to mentor a new student coming to this class.  I thought it would be way more work, which there was, but I also learned a lot of lessons from this experience.  I learned how to be open to questions, or even help in any assignments or tasks that was needed to be done.  Finally, I learned how to be cooperative and adaptable to my partner.
In conclusion, here are 3 things I learned throughout this school year.  Also, not only will these lessons help in media, but they will also help me in life and in the future.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you guys next week!

Family Night!

Hey guys!  Can you believe we have one more month left of school!  Time went by to quickly!  For this week's blog topic, we were asked what video we are going to share at our CKTV Family night and also why we want to share it.  So, here it is.
This year, I am going to share my Second Quarter Project that we did on the Kauai Transitional Music Program.  The Music Program is about a group of volunteers who give up their own time to help play music for people who are in the Kauai Hospice.  One reason why I chose to present this video is because it was I feel it was well made, production wise.  For example, most shots are well shot, editing is sharp, and the audio is pretty decent.
Next, the story.  I feel that the story of this film is very unique and engaging that I feel that it is reasonable to show at our Family night.  Once I started this project, I felt very passionate and so interested that I wanted to learn more about it.  That's what I want the viewers at Family Night to feel.
Finally, the main reason why I want to show this for Family Night is that I feel it is one of the strongest films I've done this school year.  During this project, I feel I did a great job working and creating this project.  In addition, I got to work on this project with Lukas who was a great help in this video.
In conclusion, here is why I want to show my 2nd Quarter Project for our Family Night this year.   Also, if you got any free time, come on out to our Family Night to experience our work we do in this class.  Thanks for reading!

Hey guys!  This week we only have to do one free blog so let's get right into it.  This week, I want to just show you a quick trailer about a new upcoming movie you might have heard of, "The Guardians of the Galaxy 2"  That's right, they are making a second one!  The Guardians of the Galaxy is a group of marvel heroes who team up to defeat villains in the galaxy.  In my opinion, I think this movie will be more full of action and suspense.  Again, I highly recommend you to watch this movie that will be on May 5th.  Here's the Trailer!

Kaua'i Grown

Aloha!  Welcome back to my blogs.  This week, we are asked how we are doing with our Kauai Grown Project.  So far, I feel that my partner, Asa, and I are doing a not so bad of a job.  Here are 3 reasons why I say that.
First off, Asa and I have been doing some work everyday.  For instance, we would always at least try to pre wright a tweet everyday and most of the time, we would wire two a day.  As of right now, we already made 6 tweets that are possible for posting up on the twitter page.  That should last about a week and a half of posting.  Also, Asa and I made a schedule on what days we should be posting the tweets and at what time.
Next, this week, Asa and I are going to be officially live on the Kauai Grown Twitter Page.  That's right, our plan is to post one tweet on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Also, we hope to tweet either a Farmer of the week, or product of the week each week.  I think this plan should be possible for the project.
Finally, some challenges or obstacles that we might face during this project is one, not posting on time.  Also, one obstacle could be grammar usage or the way we right a tweet.  One mistake could be very risky.
In conclusion, here is just a quick update on how Asa and I's Kauai Grown Project is doing so far.  As long as wee stick to our schedule and be cautious about what we post, we should be just right!

STN Top 3 Moment's

4/15/2017

Hey guys!! Welcome back to my blogs.  This week, we were asked, what was our top three moments at STN, and also why was it so meaningful to us.  This trip, I enjoyed everything we have done, and I just loved the fact that I was able to be there.  So here is my 3 of the many moment's that I enjoyed.
Number 3, the tours.  I'm not usually a tour person, but the tours we went on this trip, were some that I'll never forget.  Every tour we went to, there was always something that caught my eye.  For example, the Warner Bros tour and the Universal Studios tour showed me many many sets of famous TV shows and Movies, and taught me some interesting behind the scenes stuff.  Also, the Disney animation tour was also an amazing one too.  It showed us what it was like working and creating an animation film and the awesome stuff you get to do as an animator.  These tours were all so amazing and also taught me things that would be really helpful for media and  if I had a film production career in the future.
Number 2, the STN competition.  Being able to compete at this competition again was one of the best experiences of this trip.  And if you read my STN blogs, you'll know Taylor and I didn't win anything.  In fact, we were the only two in the class that didn't win anything.  But guess what, that didn't erase the fact that we both knew we did our very best.  Working with Taylor during the practices and the competition, was amazing.  There is no better partner than her.  When we turned in the flash drive in time, I saw a huge smile on her face and knew that we both did the best job we could.  And although we didn't place, we learned that doing your best is all that matters.  And that was all I asked for during that competition.
Finally, my number one moment on this trip was going to Disneyland with my CKTV Ohana.  Going to California with the CKTV class is one of the best experiences I could ever have in my life. When we went to Disney, all I ever saw on my classmates faces were smiles because we all got to spend time together.  During the trip, I saw that no one would ever be left behind or forgotten because that is what a family is.  I enjoyed riding fun rides with everyone of my classmates at Disney. And the best part is at the end of the day, we learned we went to STN as a CKTV class, and came back home as a CKTV Ohana.  And that is the best moment about this trip.
Again, there are many things I enjoyed about the trips but here are some of the best ones.  Like I said, just being able to spend 11 days in California with an amazing bunch of friendly people was all I could every ask for.

Last Day of Fun

Hey guys!  Today is the last day that we are gonna be here at Anaheim.  Tomorrow we are going home.  But, with hard work comes a lot of fun so let's get right into my last blog of the trip.  Today we finished off our trip at the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!  The first ride we went to was a really good one.  It was the Indiana Jones roller coaster.  The last time I went to Disney this ride was closed.  One of my favorite rides I rode was the Space mountain ride or the Thunder Mountain ride which were both really fast roller coasters.  Later on the day, we took one last tour which was another very interesting one.  Our tour guide named BJ was a graduate from the University of Honolulu and grew up loving Disney animations.  He taught us about the history of animation and what it was like back then.  I learned about the very first animation machine called a Zeotrobe which was made by the Chinese.  There was many knew things I learned and overall I enjoyed his tour.  Finally, we ended the day with one last ride.  We went to the Cars ride and got free fast-past tickets to the ride that was also given by BJ.  As we left the park, you could kinda see tears go down my face because of the memories I'll never forget.

Day 9

Guys, its the event we have all been waiting for, CLOSING CEREMONIES! Closing ceremonies is very hyped up.  Filled with awesome music, loud cheering and very suspenseful feelings.  So, the first awards they announce of course had to be the convention recap awards, which we are in.  Of course, my heart is beating  and my palms are sweating.  No, we didn't get honorable mention, no we didn't place third, as well as we didn't place second.  Unfortunately, we didn't get first as well.  That's right, we didn't get an award this year.  Even though we worked hard like we never did before, that didn't matter to me and Taylor.  No matter if we didn't place, Taylor and I knew we absolutely did our best.  I thought we did a great job as well as Taylor and that is pretty much what matters the most. On the bright side, everyone else placed at least an honorable mention.  I am more proud of our class than never before.  STN was so amazing this year and I couldn't ask for more.  Finally, to celebrate, we went to California Adventures.  My favorite ride was California Screamin' which is a really fast roller coaster.  Probably the fastest one in the park.  Finally, today was just an amazing day, and I can't wait for tomorrow at disney!

Day 8 of STN 2017

What's up guys!! Today is day 3 of STN and it's also our last. Today at 2:00 PM, Our convention recap video is due!!! Let me say, time really does fly by fast!!  Days feels like hours, hours feel like minutes, and minutes ticking by so fast they feel like seconds. But anyway, today was a very nerve-racking day. Today I woke up at about 5:30. Yeah, it was probably the tenseness in my body. Throughout the day, time is ticking and we are still filming and editing. I remember a huge problem Taylor and I had about the batteries were so close to dying. I think they had about 1 bar left. Fortunately, we made it in time, we did a great job in editing, we turned in the flash drive successfully on time. Taylor and I had huge smiles on our faces and we did a big high five  to celebrate at the end. Today was a pretty fast day, but tonight, we took a break from the chaos and went to a Los Angeles Angels game. One of my classmate, Evan, really enjoyed this game because he has a huge passion for this sport. Finally, we came home late again, and I went straight to bed ready for tomorrow's opening ceremonies. . Thank you guys so much for reading and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hey guys! Today is the 7th day of our CKTV trip and also day 2 for STN!! Again, as I wake up I can feel a lot of tenseness coming up ahead of us. If you don't know, Taylor McCann and I are on the recap team where we recap the entire convention. If you seen some recap videos, it was a very interesting topic that caught my eye. Taylor and I have the whole convention to film and edit and our final deadline is tomorrow at 2:00!! As we did all our filming today, the experience working with Taylor is awesome. Taylor is such a hardworking person and is an even better team worker. Today we got to film many schools at this convention and it was super fun!! Also, today I went to a very interesting breakout season by Les Rose. He thought us about how to properly find a compelling story anywhere at anytime.  Finally, we had an awards ceremony for the excellent awards. Today was a very hardworking day and I am looking forward to tomorrow.  See ya!
