What's up guys! This week I will be talking about how i'm doing on my first project that i'm doing for media so far. It is about the Malama Hule'ia organization that cleans up the Red Mangrove (an invasive plant species). So far, I feel that we are just about on track. Here are some strategies that my partner, Dalson, and I used to stay on track.
The first strategy we used was having good time management. This is important in many ways. For example, we contacted our interviewees a week before interviews were due. We had to inform them that our interviews were due on Monday so they only had a week to meet with us. We got on that as soon as we heard from Dr. Berg, Ms. Martin, and Mr. Trask. During the interviews, Dalson taught me about the strategies of filming like making sure audio works, camera placed to eye level, and no distractions in the background.
During this project, we did our best to stay organized. For example, during class we viewed all three interviews. Dalson helped me look for good audio, good footage, and he taught me about the B-roll like videos and pictures of the setting. I think the videos will be okay for our project.
We are also on track because we worked on transcribing this week. We listened to the interviews and wrote down all the questions and all of the interviewees' replies. It took us about two days to work on transcribing.
In conclusion these are the reasons why I feel that we are on track. Hopefully we can stay on schedule so we can meet the deadlines and complete a good project.
