Hey Guys! Our class recently had another STN Practice. I am so excited that our STN Trip is just around the corner! Thanks to all the the practices we had, I feel like I'm prepared and ready. But today, I'll be talking to you about my recent STN practice. So here you go.
First, let's talk about some difficulties of this project and things that didn't work. Then we can talk about the good news and things that did work. So, our topic for this practice was ,"Let's Go Fishing." My classmate Kaden's mom drove us to Nawiliwili Harbor to interview and film some fishermen. But, in life, not all things go as planned. Unfortunately, when we asked a fisherman if we could interview him, he politely said no. We understand maybe one or two people might not want to be interviewed, but that was not it. When we asked the next few people, they also didn't want to be interviewed. Sadly, my team spent about the first 30 minutes trying to find a interviewee. But, luckily we found this family that was kind enough to do the job. In addition to the bad news, one main thing a good nat sound video needs is good audio. But, that didn't work well in the video. In the video, the man who spoke was kinda soft and the mic was kinda soft too.
Now the good stuff. So first I want to say besides the audio, I think this video turned out pretty good! For example, I feel we improved on our b-roll by getting more sequences of shots and getting shots so that helps to make a better understanding of our story. Also, I think we improved on using our time wisely. The last thing about the good news is that even though it took us a while to get an interview, we never gave up and we kept trying and doing our best that we could.
Some things we could have worked on was getting our project turned in earlier so we can get more feedback. We kinda turned in our project at the last minute but I feel next time I think we should do it earlier so we could improve it more. Another thing we could improve on is maybe planning out what we're going to do so that we have an idea of what to do. The last thing we could work on is our audio. Like I said earlier, we didn't have that much good audio so next time we need to keep in mind of that also.
In conclusion, this practiced helped me and my team a lot. My answer to if I want another STN practice, I would say even though it does take up some of our time, I think we should have another one because like they say, practice makes perfect. Also, for Crazy 8's, I want to be on the filming team because I like filming and I don't really like being one of the news reporter because I don't really like doing the news story. That's all the time I got, see ya next time.
