Oh STN, back at it again with an awesome day!!! Hey guys! Today was another very stressful and the citing day. Today is the first day that the real competition starts. If you don't know, this competition you are givin a topic and you have to do some type of film on that topic depending on your team. For example, if you are in movie trailer, you have to make a movie trailer on a topic. If you're in music video, you have to make a video on a song that is givin to you. I am in the Nat Sound team with Carter and Brent. We have to make a video that tells a story about a topic. But we can't use voice overs or music. Only interviews and Nat sounds. So, we had 2 hours to film, and 3 hours to edit. 5 hours total. And, the topic we were givin was "Southern Charm." That first, I was a little curious what that meant. So, my team and I had a quick discussion on it. To us, southern charm meant how people who are charming must be someone who is kind, respectful, friendly, and helpful to others and there obviously in the south. So, we decided to interview restaurants because they help out with there community. Here come mee the not so good news. We couldn't have any restaurant to interview. Everyone said no! This lady we asked working in a cookie store thought about it for a while and said no. But, this is the good news. When we were looking for other restaurants and stores, she made up her mind and kindly volunteered. Thank god. After a good half Ann hour of looking, we finally settled up our equipment. We interviewed her and asked questions about the southern charm then we took some cool b-roll of her. Finally, we headed up to the edit room to edit. It could only be two editors so Brent and Carter did it. In the meantime, I went to breakout session with other people. It's basically they teach you some cool techniques on filming. But, I'll talk to you tomorrow about that since I am pretty much doing breakout sessions all day tomorrow. Then, we ate dinner at the CNN News food court and ended the day with a award ceremony. That's all I got for today. I'll see you tomorrow!
