Day 6 of STN 2016

Hey guys!!! Guess what day it is?  It's Crazy 8's!!! That's right!  STN officially starts today!  Waking up as early as 5:30 in the morning, my class and I all prepared ourselves for the stress, tasks, and challenges that we will face today. When we went in the editing ballroom. It was enormous!! With about 3000 kids, it can get really loud in here. So, our film team's topic was "Tomorrow the World."  Most of us didn't know what the heck that meant at first. It took us about an hour and a half to find a topic, but finally, our main topic was about a girl who saves the world by doing kind actions to others. In addition, the filming experience was crazy. We were constantly filming, barely any breaks, and don't even get me started on the editing. When you walk through the editing room doors after about 3ish, you can definitely feel the tense of it!!  Time was going by so fast that before you know it, it was 15 minutes before the deadline. Our film team is still editing with stress in there heads as well as the broadcast team. Finally, it is the deadline and many teams are cheering at the top of their lungs. Both of our teams made the deadline, but unfortunately, the magazine team exported their files wrong. Yea, it was a bummer and everyone felt bad.  It on the bright side, it was a huge learning experience. After Crazy 8's, we had a talk with our teacher, Mr. M about what we could've done better. What I agreed with was that he told us that we can definitely learn from this experience and that at the end of the day, we can walk out knowing every single one of us did our best. Finally, we had opening ceremonies at night where we got some speeches by the producers of STN!! You can definitely say today was a crazy day, and tomorrow will be another one. Again, thanks for reading and I'll see you guys tomorrow!!

Aloha guys!!  Today is day 5 of our STN trip and today was an interesting day. I have so much things to talk about so let's get right into it. The first thing we did today, was an awesome tour of the Angles stadium. The angels stadium is a huge, beautiful baseball field with many eye catching places. At the tour, we got to learn some history behind the Angels team and also different parts of the stadium. Next, was my favorite part of the trip. We got a VIP tour of the Disney Animation place where the make all the animations of Disney movies. We experienced how some movies are made and how movies are made. For example, we learned how Disney character, Moana, was made and how she was animated. But, you won't believe what happened next. We got to see Josh Gad!!! He is the voice of Olaf in Frozen, and plays LeFou in the new Beauty and the Beast movie.  He literally made my jaw drop.  For me, that was CRAZY! Finally, to end the day we got to meet our pen pals and had a dinner with them at Bubba Gumps. My pen pal, Austin, and I got to learn way more about each other.  Today was such an spectacular day! But, tomorrow the chaos begins. Tomorrow is the beginning of STN and also is Crazy 8's. Unfortunately, that's all I got for today. See you next time!!

Welcome back guys!!! Today is my 4th blog on the trip so let's get right into it. Today was a pretty chill day. First off, we stopped by Big Boys for breakfast. Let me say, they had some really good food there.  Then, we spent the day at Hollywood. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to meet any celebrities but we definitely got to see their stars!  We saw many people in costumes like super man and spongebob. Finally, we went to shop around the mall there too!  One of my favorite parts of the day was that we got to see the Hollywood sign. Then, we finally went to the Anaheim Hutton Hotel where STN will be. To end of the day, we went to Downtown Disney for dinner. We saw many lights and also went more shopping. In conclusion, even though we didn't do much, I had a blast with my ohana!!

What's up guys!!! Let me tell you, I've been in LA for only twos days now and I already fell in love with it!! Today we did so many things so let's jump right it!! Today, we have the amazing privilege to go to Universal Studios!!! One of the most amazing places here in LA, we got our own VIP tour, rode many roller coasters, and went to the City Walk to conclude the night. The tour was a VIP tour that our class took to learn interesting facts about the Universal Studios. We saw many behind the scene places here and learned about certain movies that was made here!! One thing I learned was that Steven Spielberg, who is a famous director, was rejected many many times by film companies and studios. But, that did not stop his dream. He ended up being one of the most successful Director. After that amazing tour, we spent most of the day riding roller coasters. In fact, we waited about 45-60 minutes each ride. Yes the lines were long, but we got to spend the time to talk with other classmates and learn more about them. One of my favorite rides was either between the Harry Potter Ride, or the Jurassic Park ride. Overall, these rides were all exciting. Finally, to end the day, we went to the City Walk next door to eat dinner and do some shopping.

Welcome back guys!!! It's already day 2 and so much excitement was in the air!! There is so much things I wanna talk about so let's get right into it.  So, 7 am and I am so pumped up for the day. First off, we ate a good breakfast then went straight to Warner Bros Studios. Over there, I learned about many many interesting facts about the Warner Bros Entertainment Company. For example, it was in fact founded by 4 Warner brothers. Also, I got to be on set on some famous TV shows, like Full House, The Big Bang Theory, but my favorite, the Ellen Show. Finally, my favorite part about this tour was I got to see the actual Batmobile and also the Jokers Lamborghini from the movie Suicide Squad. Next stop, a quick UCLA tour of the campus and also a little bit about there film majors. Last but not least, the main event of the evening. The NBA game between Lakers and Timberwolves. This is actually on the top 3 things I was looking forward to this trip.  No matter if you love basketball or not, I think an NBA game will be an awesome experience. In addition, it was a really close game and really got me at the edge of my seat. To sum up, today was such an interesting and fun day and yes, we have way more to come. Again, I was so satisfied to be in the same room as some talented NBA athletes. See ya!

Hey guys!!! Can you believe the trip is finally here!!!! There is too much things to talk about but let's talk about my hype for this first day. Although we didn't do much, there is no word to describe how excited I was when I stepped foot onto the plane. All my past memories from last year's STN kept coming back to me. From the Hawks game, to the Opening Ceremonies, and also New York City. Overall, the plane ride was very long for me. In my experience, I can not sit in a tight seat for hours and hours straight. On the bright side, I definitely got to get to know more about other people and make new friends like Mia Thompson, Rayden, and much more!!! Because we had so much fun this plane ride, I can't wait for the awesome excitement that is coming up next. In conclusion, that's all I got for today. See ya!

What's up guys!! Can you believe that STN is almost here!! I've been waiting for this awesome event since the beginning of the year!  There is no word to describe how excited I am, and I am looking forward to do so much stuff!  So, here are three things I am most excited about the trip.  Here it is.
First off, the NBA game!  Just like last year, we are going back again to watch another NBA game.  This time, it will be the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Minnesota Timberwolves.  No matter if you enjoy basketball or not, trust me that it will be a great experience.  I will get to see Brandon Ingram, D'Angelo Russell, Nick Young, Karl-Anthony Towns, and more!!  So, that's why I can't wait for this game!
Next, what is one of the biggest attractions in California? Well, who wouldn't be excited for the happiest place in the world?  That's right, we are going to Disneyland!!  I can't wait for the games, Disney Characters, and the big roller coasters!!  I can't wait for the awesome experience that we get to do that we can't do here in Hawaii.
Finally, I can't wait for the actual competition.  That's right, I can't wait to compete in the Student Television Network with my classmates.  Although there will be many challenges and obstacles along the way, I know no matter if we win or lose, it will be worth it.  Also, I will get to learn new things and meet new friends along the way.
In conclusion, here are three of the many things I am super excited for this trip.  Again, there is no words that can explain the excitement I am feeling.  We are less than a week again, and I can't wait to get off this island for a few days.
California, here we come!

STN Practice

What's up guys!  Can you believe that STN is in 2 weeks!! It came by too fast.  But, with hard work comes hard practice.   Since the beginning of the school year, all of our CKTV students were practicing for the big competition co ing up this spring break.  As of now, we are finally finished with all our practices.  So, I will be telling you how I think we did.
First off, the Crazy 8's team.  If you didn't know, I'm on the film team where we have 8 hours to produce a short film.  The people on this team was Kolten, Napua, Carter, Amber, Kirra, Asia, Natalie, and me.  Although we only had one practice together and it is a whole new team, I think we did great!  Why?  Well, all team members were never left behind, all team members contributed to the project in some way, and we all got along on our first practice.
Now, our actually STN teams.  So, for the convention I am in the Convention Recap team where we recap the whole convention.  This year, my partner is Taylor McCann.  Let me tell you, she is amazing!!  That's right, honestly I feel that there is no better partner than her.  For example, every practice she is ready and prepared for any challenge she faces.  Also, she knows how to solve problems and never procrastinates.  Taylor is also a friendly person and is a very easy person to work with.
In addition, I honestly feel that Taylor and I will make a great team.  Since the very first practice until now, many improvements has been made.  Taylor and I got to know each other, we got to be great friends, and we both get the fair share of the work.  For instance, we both get to film and edit, but I would mostly do all the filming while she has time to work on the editing.  But most importantly, Taylor and I had no problem.  That is what satisfies me the most.
In conclusion, here is my thoughts on both teams and I just wanna say that no matter what happens at STN, if we win or lose, I am happy I go to work with both of them.  STN, here we come!!!

4th QTR Project!

Hey guys!  Welcome back to my blogs!!  Can you believe that the 3rd quarter is coming to an end!!!  That's right, we only have 2 more weeks left for this quarter!! And you know what that means, our convention is coming up!! But besides all that, 4th quarter is right around the corner, and you probably don't know that instead of a free project, we are gonna all work together for our Kauai Grown Project.  For example, we are gonna make social media accounts, personal profiles, take photos and do more about the Kauai Grown Company.  So, we were asked what were the 3 things you see yourself working for this project.  Here it is.
So, my first choice I see myself doing is working for the Instagram team! Most of you know Instagram is a really easy and fun social media page.  Since I have an Instagram account for my own, and I am pretty much active on Instagram everyday, I think it will be a fun and easy job for me.
Next, I think I see myself working for snapchat team too!  Just like Instagram, it is a really easy and fun social media account.  Again, I'm on snapchat literally everyday!  So, being on this snapchat team will be easy for me.
Finally, I could see myself being on the personal profile team which is where we do profile videos on some of the farmers who work for the Kauai Grown Company.  The reason why I think I could be on this team is because I love creating and producing personal profiles.  Although it may be a bit more work than working a social media page, I kinda want a chance too do some film production too!
To conclude, here are three teams I hope I could work for this 4th quarter project.  Although we can't do our free project like last year, I think it will be a fun experience doing this.

PSA

Hey Guys!  So our PSA deadline has finally come and now were are finished with our 3rd quarter project.  So, today's blog topic is, how did we do this quarter.  For me, I think I did a decent job, or not that bad of a job.  So, here are three reasons why.
First, I met the deadline!  Including my scripts, TIAS, and the final video, all the deadlines were met.  Therefore, I think I did a good job.  Normally, I would procrastinate at the last minute and turn it in at the last minute.  Or even not turn it in on time.  So, this time I prevented procrastination and turned it in on time.
Next, although I didn't procrastinate, I still only got one draft done!  Also, since the deadline was right around the corner, I wasn't able to post another draft I was working on.  In addition, as turning in multiple drafts as a goal I wanted to achieve this quarter, I wasn't able to succeed in it.
Finally, woking on the project was honestly stressful and difficult.  I actually had to re-film once.  But, besides all the challenges I had to face, I think my final project did pretty good.  That's right!  Although there is probably some things I needed to work on, I think I did a good, decent job overall.
To sum it all up, here are three reasons why I think I did a decent job.  Hopefully in the future I could fix the small mistakes I did and make it the best it can be.
