Hey guys! This is an additional paragraph to my joining media blog. Im going to talk to you about if I want to join media next year. So, the sign up sheets are just around the corner and I still have been asked the same question. Am I continuing with media in 7th grade? The answer... well it can go both ways. So far I've never seen a class like this before. This class is very organized and is a great class to be in and that is why it's an honors class. Also, the past few months I see this class does not come easy and does take a lot of work that you just wanna drop out. But, let's get back to my answer. The answer would be YES I am joining next year. You may be asking, "Why?" Well, it's all because I want to challenge myself. In the first few weeks in media I learned all the jobs and expectations you will have in this class and I knew that it will be challenging, but I am willing to take this challenge because I feel it will be worth it in the future. For example, this class has taught me not only media things like how to use a camera or how to edit videos, but it also taught me how to be self organized and on task with any work I do. Also, this class pushed me to do my best in anything I do and that is why I signed up for media. In conclusion, I hope this gave you a better understanding why I still want to continue with media and I hope it makes you think twice in taking challenges in your life. See you later!

Hey! What is media? It means, main means of mass communication especially television, radio, newspaper, and internet. For today's blog I'm going to talk to you about why I joined Media. Media is my 6th period elective. Here are 3 reasons why I signed up for this Honors media class.
The first reason why I signed up for media is because I had some experience in it. When I was younger, I always made short videos and clips with my friends. For example, me and my friends would go to the soccer park at Vidinha Stadium and film some soccer tricks and afterwards edit it all together to make a video. So, I heard in media that they do that kind of stuff too. I signed up so that I could learn knew techniques on how to make videos. Next, I signed up for media because I was thinking of having a media career. For example, when I grow up I thought of being a movie filmer or editor, or even just making my own videos and posting it on social media. So, learning new media techniques in this class will also help me when I'm older too. Last but not least, one of the most important reasons why I signed up for media is not only help me learn new media techniques, but to also help me in my future life. I signed up to challenge myself. For example, I feel this class will help me in the future because it helps me meet deadlines. At the STN Convention you have to meet a deadline or it is disqualified. Same with jobs or college tests. Also, this class will help me in the future because it will help me learn how to have good time management and teach me how to be focus in any work I do. In conclusion, these are 3 reasons why I signed up for this media class. I know this class may seem very hard, but I feel it will be with it in the future in any job or career I have. Hey guys! Today I'll be talking to you about this cool movie trailer I recently watch called,"Captain America Civil War." But, this movie takes place after the Movie, Captain America The Winter Soldier, so if you didn't see that movie, I suggest watching that first. Anyways, this movie is a new Marvel movie that has a lot of cool action it it. For example, I like when they show the battle between Captain America and Iron Man in one scene. I like the shots they use in the movie trailer which makes me really want to watch the movie. So here is the trailer and I hope you enjoy! Hey guys! Do you love magic? Well I do! I really love to watch the famous magicians on TV amaze their crowd. Also, one thing I want to be when I grow up is to be a magician. Now and then I pull off small tricks in front of my friends because I love to see their reactions. But when I grow up, I hope to do more dangerous and challenging tricks to others. If you've heard of David Blaine, Houdini, or Chris Angel, you probably heard of them because of their amazing stunt tricks. One day, I would like to visit a famous magician like Chris Angel and see his magic show in person. Here are some videos of them in action. Enjoy! Hey guys! Last Wednesday on November 11, my media class and I had our first STN Practice. STN stands for Student Television Network. It is a convention where different media classes around the nation come to compete in doing their best work in doing media projects in many specific categories. You are given a topic and you have to do some kind of video about it. The video you do is based on your categories. Some are like music videos, movie trailers, breaking news, public service announcement, or spot feature. My partner, Carter, and I had to do a project called Nat Sounds. It's where you do a news story on a topic without voice overs reporters, or music. The catch is we have 2 hours too film and 3 hours to edit. But, today I'm going to talk to you about 3 things I learned that is important to have when you do this project.
First of all, the first thing I learned was that you need to be prepared! For example, before you start to do anything like filming, interviewing, or editing, you need to think about what important things you need to do to make your project the best. Take a few minutes to come up with some kind of game plan for your project. In addition, think of things like what questions you're going to ask for interviews, think of what shots you need for your project, and also how are you going to make your project interesting through editing. Also, another way you need to be prepared is to double-check your equipment. Make sure that you have all the equipment you need, make sure the equipment are working, check if the batteries are full, and even pack some extra batteries just in case. Next, I learned that one thing you need to have is good time management. Time management is a big factor during this challenge. At the practice, you had 2 hours to film and 3 hours to edit. That is a very little time. Also, you need to have good time management of deadlines. Deadlines is something that everyone hates in this challenge. I heard that if you are seconds too late, the judges will disqualify you. Last but not least, this is a team effort. This project is not done by yourself, it is done by a team. If one person does the project all by themselves, it will be more difficult for everyone and the the project won't turn out the best it could be. But, I learned that when teams work together and cooperate, then it will be easier and less stressful to do the project and the project will turn out better. In conclusion, this STN practice helped me so much to give me a taste on what the real thing is going to be like at the real STN, and it helped me prepare for it too. I learned to be prepared, have good time management, and have good team work while doing this project, and the students in my media class who read this, I hoped it will help you too! :) Hey Guys! Today I am going to talk to you about a word you hear often or even see often that is called teasing. Some people tease others to hurt other people's feelings or even just to get negative attention. Some people tease in ways like saying mean things about someone behind their back, saying mean stuff about them online, or even just saying it straight to there face. Teasing could even be a hurtful punch or push to them. I hate to say it, but I have teased someone before. So, for today's blog topic I will talk to you bout how I teased my friend, what I learned from it, and what I can do to prevent it.
First, I'll talk to you about how I teased my friend. So, I was playing soccer outside with my friends when one of my new friends asked if he could join in. So we let him play with us at when he got the ball, he tried to shoot it but missed and fell down. So I started to laugh and I said, "Wow you suck at soccer!" I know, that is kinda mean but I said it because it was a joke. I thought he was pretending he was bad at soccer so that is what I said. Unfortunately, he was actually trying and I hurt his feelings without knowing it. So that is how I teased my friend. Now after that experience, I have learned some new things. First was that teasing hurts peoples feelings and it is very bad to do it yourself. Next, I learned to treat others the way you want to be treated because you wouldn't like it if someone teases you. Also, you should stand up to teasing. For example, if you see someone who is teasing someone, tell them to stop it immediately. And finally, even if you meant to hurt their feelings you should always say sorry to them no matter what. Lastly, let me tell you how I can prevent teasing. First of all, if you're going to say something to someone or say something about them, STOP, and think what you are going to say to them. For example, think if it is going to offend them or hurt them in any way. Also, like I said earlier, you should always stand up to teasing. Tell the person that teasing is bad and they wouldn't like it if it happened to them. Lastly, if you think you hurt their feelings immediately say you're sorry or say you're just kidding. In conclusion, teasing is a horrible thing to do. You should never tease anyone to make their feelings hurt. Remember, don't be that big old bully who teases everyone in his or her way. Also, do not cross the line. Teasing is kinda okay as long as it hurts no one's feelings. So, here is my experience about when I teased someone and what I learned from it. Also, I hope these things I told you were helpful and I hope you think twice before you start to tease anyone. Hey guys! For this week's blog topic I will be talking about the most favorite trip I had in my life. So, my favorite trip was definitely the trip I took this past fall break which were actually two places, Orlando,Florida and Dallas,Texas. Here are three reasons why I feel that way.
First of all, I love Orlando because of the cool things you can do over there that we can't do in our state of Hawaii. For example, if you didn't know, Orlando, Florida has one of the most biggest theme park also known as Disney World! If you don't know what Disney World is, then it is made up of four themed parks which include Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Universal Studios to make one huge Disney World. These theme parks had many, many fun things to do. At Magic Kingdom you can do things like meeting Disney characters, watching Disney plays, but best of all, riding Disney roller coasters. At Epcot, you could learn about various countries, learn about all the cultures in the world, learn about the future, eat all kinds of different food but my favorite thing at Epcot was tasting all the Cokes in the world. Some of them tasted horrible. Then at Animal Kingdom you could see all kinds of animals. And finally, my favorite was Hollywood Studios because of the more fast and exciting roller coasters there. I also got to learn a little about the history of media and got to learn new tips and tricks on how to shoot videos at this big movie theater place. Secondly. After spending two fun weeks in Orlando, Florida before we had to head home we took a stop to Dallas, Texas. If you didn't know, my dad's favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys and he really loves that team so what we did in Dallas was that we took a self tour around AT&T Stadium which is the Dallas Cowboys football team's home stadium. We got to actually go on the field and run around. We also got to go in the players'locker room and see all the player's lockers. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet any of the players on the team but because my sister luckily got to meet some of the Cowboy's cheerleaders. But guess what! The next day my dad, uncle, and I got to actually watch a football game at the Stadium. Personally, I am not really a Cowboys fan but luckily they challenged one of my favorite teams called the New England Patriots. This was cool because I actually got to see some of the famous NFL football players play live. I got to watch Tom Brady, the Patriot's quarterback play live in action. But, I didn't get to see Tony Romo the Cowboy's starting quarterback play. Instead I got to see Brandon Weeden play. I was kinda cheering for the patriots because of Tom Brady and I also play for the Lihue Patriots too, while my dad was yelling and cheering for the Cowboys. By the way, Patriots won which made my dad sad and a little mad. But, overall, we all thought that experience was awesome. Lastly, one of the main reasons why I love this trip was that I went with my family. I got to go with my mom, dad, and sister. Even better, I went with my favorite cousin Cameron and his parents. He is the same age as me and we got to ride all the big rides together. Plus, my god brother named Christian and his family went on this trip too. We don't get to see him very often because he lives on O'ahu. So spending time with him was very fun. In conclusion, here are three reasons why I loved this trip. This traveling experience was incredible and I had a blast going to Orlando and Dallas especially going there with my family. I really wish we could do things like this with them more often. We are actually planning to do a cruise with them or even go snowboarding somewhere cold in about three to four years from now. Hey guys! On Sunday, November 15th our CKTV Media Class would be doing another car wash! This car wash would be at the Kukui Grove Macy's parking lot. If you missed out on our last car wash, then next week sunday is your chance to help our class fundraise. This car wash will help us fundraise for our class trip in STN which will be in Atlanta, Georgia. But, Mr. M said that there is a chance that after STN, we might go to New York to go see the big buildings and famous attractions there too. Anyway, thank you for supporting our class and we hope to see you there.
