2nd Quarter Project Update.

Aloha Everyone!  For our second quarter project, our assignment is to do another news story. Our blog topic this week is to talk about how our project is going. I feel that we are behind so far. Here are three reasons why I feel me and my partner are behind.
First, the beginning of this quarter my partner was super busy at the STN Fall Challenge, so, we kinda had to start off late. Dalson and the rest of his team did really well at the challenge!  And although Dalson already told me he was going to give me more responsibilities, and I procrastinated and didn't research for our project's topic.
Next, after finding several topics, the topics we chose weren't approved by Mr. M., so we took longer to find one plus get it approved. So that made our T.I.A.S longer to do and get it posted on time.
Finally, when we finally got our topic approved, we had to schedule our interviews. Our first interview is on Tuesday. Interviews are due on Friday, Nov. 6,  and we are doing more interviews on Nov. 7 because that day the people we asked said there is a special event happening on that day. So that will make us a day late.
In conclusion, procrastination, finding a topic that works best, and scheduling our interviews are the three reasons why I feel we are behind in our second quarter project.

Hey guys! I just watched the movie trailer for the upcoming move called "Star Wars The Force Awakens." If you haven't watch the other Star Wars movies, then I suggest you watch them before this one. If you did watch them then let me tell you a little about what this next one is about. This movie is takes place after Darth Vader dies and what is going to happen after that. I love watching these movies because of how the directors use many cool shots in there movies like the wide shots when the characters  have wars in space. Also, I enjoy these Star Wars Movies because of all the science fiction scenes they have. So, here is the trailer and I hope you enjoy.

'Sup Guys!  Did you know that we just celebrated "Back To The Future" Day? This past Wednesday, October 21, 2015 was known as Back To The Future Day, referring to a movie made in 1989 called Back To The Future Part 2. In the movie, the main characters traveled in time to the future to October 21, 2015. There, they saw things that were in the future that weren't there in 1989. In this video clip, the reports talked about the top 10 things they predicted right.  Some things such as the hoover boards, large screen tvs, drones, and talking to electronics. It was a surprise that they predicted all of these things to be here today!  Check out this video that talk about the top 10 things they got correct!

Practice Makes Perfect

10/24/2015

Hey guys! Have you ever had to practice something to become perfect at it?  Well here is a time that I experienced that.  This is my first year playing tackle football and I am currently practicing this new sport.   Here are 3 things I learned while practicing tackle football.
First of all, one  important thing I learned was to have a positive attitude when practicing.  Having a positive attitude helped me be motivated to practice a certain skill over and over. Having a negative attitude will not help me get better but it could also slow me down to reach my goals.
Next important thing I learned was to always listen to your coach.  The coaches are not there to scold me, but to give me feedback so that I can be a better player to help my team win.  My coaches are very helpful to motivate me to do my best.  Coaches are there to share their knowledge so I can do a certain skill at the best of my ability.  For example, my coaches always tell me to stay low when I tackle, and so believe I am a better tackler now because of that advice.
The third thing I learned when practicing, was to learn new skills.  I learned that practice makes perfect, so by practicing new skills we can get better at it.  One thing I really worked on was my pass catching and I not only practiced during football practice, but I practiced at home with my dad, and sometimes my teammates will come over, and we would practice on our own.  And eventually, I feel more confident when I am catching the ball.
In conclusion,  having a positive attitude and open mind to listen to your coaches will help you get better at achieving your goals.  Practice, practice, practice, is important for you to get better in whatever you do.

Lights, Motors, Action!

Hey Guys! If you didn't know, during the Fall Break my family and I went to Orlando, Florida for our family vacation. We went to visit the fun and adventurous theme parks in Disney World. One day, we went to a theme park known as Hollywood Studios. We watched a stunt show  called Lights, Motors, Action. It is about these professional stunt drivers that performed extreme stunts while driving cars. Something that is cool about this show is that they tell us a little about some media they do while they film the stunts the drivers do. They told us about what kinds of shots they use to make the shots look more interesting and have suspense to use in action shots in videos or movies. They also reveal secrets on how they did some of the stunts too. One of the secrets I learned, was about a stunt driver, driving a car backwards in high speed.  If you want to see the secrete, please click on this short video.  In conclusion, that show was amazing and really interesting to watch.

2nd Quarter Project's Goals

Welcome back guys! Now that our CKTV Media Productions class is done with our First Quarter project, we are back for our next quarter project. In our previous quarter project, I think my partner and I did a great job. But, I also think that we have some things that we can improve to make it better. Here are three skills that I feel we can do to make our 2nd Quarter Project better than the first.
First, I think we should work more on time management. For example, some things we could do is starting off early. That could help us so that later on in the quarter, we have a lot of time to gather feedback from other classmates and our teacher, so that we could do any changes or fix anything up to make our project better.
Next, I think we should work on putting our scripts better. We should work on making it nice and clear so that the viewer has a better understanding of what is going on during the video.
Finally, one of the things we need to work on is our final video. One of the things is b-roll. One thing about the b-roll is that it needs to match what the interviewee is saying. Also, we need to plan out what types of b-roll we need, so we have more than enough of what we need.
In conclusion, there are some things my partner and I can do to improve to make a better quarter project. I feel if I work on these three things, our project  would be a success.

Media Golf Tournament

Hey guys!  Just wanted to share my first Golf Tournament experience
that happened last weekend.  This Golf Tournament was a fundraiser to help our CKTV Media class to the STN or Student Television Network to Atlanta, Georgia.  My class and I had to wake up and be at the (golf tournament place) before 6:00am to serve all the golfers.  Then while the golfers were golfing, we headed down to our school's cafeteria to decorate our cafeteria for all the golfers to come for lunch.  We served them cooling beverages and pupu food.  We also gave out prizes to all of the golfers.  I believe this event was successful and fun.  I also had fun hanging with my class.  Thank you to all who participated in this event whether sponsoring or donating prizes.  This will definately help us get to the STN!!!!  Have a nice break y'all!
