Project Update 2

What's up guys! For this week's blog topic I'll be talking to you about how my partner, Dalson, and I our doing on our first quarter project.  We only have two more days until our projects are due.  So far, I feel that our projects are doing great. Here are three reasons why I feel that way.
First of all, I think our project is doing well because we finished all our filming, all our transcribing, and our script. Also, Dalson and I are finishing up putting all our video clips, B-roll, and voice overs all together.
All my partner and I have to do now is now putting our last B-roll clips together and we will have a rough draft of our project. Next, my partner and I could show it to some other classmates to ask for their opinion. After that, then we finally show it to Mr. M to ask for his opinion to make any changes.
Last but not least, this project all comes down to the deadlines. Overall, my partner and I did our best to meet our project's deadline. I think that way because we started filming early so that we can start editing. A reason why we started early because I am going on a trip to Florida TODAY which is two days before our project is due, and I didn't want my partner to be stressing up finishing up our project.
Overall, according to all the progress me and my partner has done this quarter, I Feel that are project would be successful and would me the deadlines. Don't forget to check out my blogs to see are final draft.

Pentatonix

Hi Everyone!  Do you like music?  Well let me talk to you about one of my favorite musical groups.  They're called Pentatonix.  This group of musical people is very unique because they don't just sing to some instruments playing in the back, instead, they make there own music using ZERO instruments but their voices. That's right!! This group does a-cappella. I think this group's style of music is cool because of the difference of the sound between instruments and the human voice. Other people including me love this kind of music. The Pentatonix also travel to many places around the U.S to do live concerts to their fans. Don't forget to check out one of my favorite videos that I watched from them. Enjoy! :)

Challenges

Welcome back guys. For this week's blog topic, I'll be talking to you about a time when I was challenged to do something difficult. This was when I first started to play football. Here are three reasons why I felt that football was a challenge.
First, I felt it was a challenge because I hadto learn many new things. For example, because I'm on offense, I had to learn about 20 different plays as compared to when I played flag football, where most of the time you just run a route and the quarterback throws you the ball.   Tackle football has multiple formations and from those formations there are multiple plays. It can get difficult because your responsibilities are different with each play.
Another thing I have to learn is when on defense, I have to know how to tackle the player with the ball. When I played flag football, you just need to worry on pulling a flag on the player with the ball. In tackle football, its more difficult because you need actually need to hit and tackle the player.
Also, football is difficult because while I am running and tackling, I have to wear these very heavy equipment which are shoulder pads, knee pads, and a big helmet  for my safety. This makes things difficult because then the equipment slows me down a lot and makes me tired faster.
In conclusion here are three reasons why I think that football was a new challenge for me.

Dude Perfect

What's up guys! For this week's free blog, I wanna talk to you about this awesome group of "dudes" who creates these crazy videos. Who are they you ask? Well, they call themselves Dude Perfect. What makes these dudes' videos crazy is because that they make trick shot videos! For example, some of the trickshots they do are basketball, football, bowling, and even golf. Also, this group takes time to edit these vids to make a high quality video. These trick shot making dudes make these videos for a living and for people like me's entertainment. Some things I like about there vids is that they have many different shots and one thing specifically you will see in their videos is that they use slow motion to capture the important events. Here is one of my favorite videos they made which is a pool trickshot vid. If you like them, please watch their other vids too!!! Enjoy! :)

Not So Easy

9/18/2015

Hey Guys! Have you ever tried to do something that you thought would be pretty easy, but it actually turned out that is was pretty hard? Well, that has happened to me in my media class before. Let me tell you on how I thought that my Inside Scoops would be easy but actually was quite difficult.
First, I thought that Inside Scoops would be easy because I thought Mr. M would give us the scripts for us to just sit and record the schools' announcements. However, my partner and I had to get our scripts correct information ourselves by looking up the schools website and even calling the schools' themselves. It wasn't too easy because not all schools had information for us.
After we had gathered the correct information to make our scripts, our next step was to record it.  Recording was another challenge when doing our Inside Scoops. I thought, we just would record what was written but there was more to it. Instead of just reading the information, we had to use a radio voice.  That means when speaking we have to sound excited and not boring.  It was hard because using a radio voice is not my normal way of talking.
The next difficult thing about radios is meeting deadlines.  It is due a week before our Inside Scoop is aired.  It was difficult because we had a problem because KIF changed their schedule at the last minute.  Not meeting the deadlines is difficult and stressful for not only us, but also the DJ of the radio station.  He also has a deadline to meet.
In conclusion, this is an example of what I thought would be easy but it actually turned out quite difficult.  But because this was my first experience, I know what to expect the next time I do Inside Scoops.

For the is week's free blog, here are some photos that me and my partner, Dalson Cua, took. We took a lot of photos.  One thing I learned about taking pictures was about the shutter speed.  Which is the time the shutter is open.  This was important for the the leaf and water drop picture that Dalson took.  The timing and shutter speed was important to take this awesome picture.  I would like to practice and take more photos using the shutter speed because  it is so cool and  unique.

Our Successful CKTV Camping Trip!

9/11/2015

Hey Guys! If you have read my last blog, you already know that our CKTV Ohana went for a class bonding camp for the whole last weekend. Overall, I felt this camp was very successful!!! There are many, many good words on how to describe this camping weekend but you probably would be sleeping after you have read them all. So, today I will tell you the three main memorable moments of how I feel this camp was successful.
The first memorable moment was when our class got to go on our photography hike. That was a great event because we got to take many, many interesting  photos while we were hiking down a trail. I learned some new techniques and skills on how to take a great photo. This experience will definitely help me throughout the year.
The second memorable moment was when Mr. M's friend came up to Koke'e to show our class some very fun and exiting bonding games. I feel that those games really brought this class together because all of us had fun and really enjoyed each other's company. One of my favorite games was called 'Mirror Mirror". This  game was when one person acts as a mirror so they have to copy or mirror what ever the person in front of them is doing.  It made  me laugh a lot.
Last but not least, one of my very favorite moments was when our class went down to the Koke'e Park and played kickball and tug-of-war. This was very fun because I am the person who really loves doing  outdoor activities especially with my friends. I think everyone else had fun too because I saw that they really enjoyed themselves and no one got upset especially if they were on the losing teams.
In conclusion, this was an awesome camp and it is probably one of the best I've been to. I feel this camp was successful because I got to learn more about my CKTV Ohana and at the same time learned a lot during the trainings that will help me in my media class. Overall, I really enjoyed the fun activities we did like hikes, games, or even talking and socializing in the cabin. I wish we could stayed longer. Anyway, those were some of the many fun moments I had during the camp. Thanks for reading! See you next time on my next blogs.

Hiki No Can Do Festival

This blog is about the Hiki No Can Do Festival that took place last weekend at Island School. For those who are wondering what that is, it is an event that showcases on a big screen all of the nominees of Hiki No. I was amazed by all the projects that were done by all the middle school and high school media classes all over our state of Hawai'i. One day, I hope to learn more techniques and be an experienced filmmaker like them. Not only was the event about the nominees' short videos, but they also provided free food and they also had a photo booth. Carter, Kai, Mia, Kirra, Kaycee and I took funny photos. Check out our goofy pictures we took below. Till' next time, see you guys later.

Ready For Media Camp?

9/3/2015

Hey everyone! I am so exited for this fun upcoming event that is happening this week end. If you're wondering what it is, it is the first time I am going to camp up in Koke'e mountains with my media class! I am really looking forward to this camp because I can get to know more classmates and bold friendships. Also, I want to learn more tips and strategies on how to be a good filmmaker. But, basically I want to have a successful and fun weekend so here are three reasons how I am gonna make this weekend the best.
First of all, the theme of this camp is "Ohana" which means a family.  So, I am going to get to know all my classmates. Most new students like me have to get along with the returning students because if any of our new students have a question or need help, then they would be comfortable asking other returning students for help, other than your partner.
Next, most of this camp is to make one big CKTV Ohana, but,  we are also going to do some media training as well. Up in Koke'e I want to learn more techniques and strategies on how to make an excellent video. I want to take cool pictures up there too.
Lastly, the most important thing to do to make this weekend successful is to HAVE FUN!!! This is a very good thing to do. You totally should come up to the camp with a positive attitude and be ready for a fun weekend. Also, help out your other classmates because we are one big ohana. So if you see anyone that needs help, jump right in and help them out.
In conclusion, this is only some of the great things you can do to make this weekend awesome and FUN!!! I am really looking forward to this camp. I hope everyone has fun and gets to know everyone. Finally, after this camp I hope this class turns more into just a media class and into one big CKTV Ohana. Until
next time, see ya!!!
