Hey guys! Sadly, today is the last day that we will be in New York. I had so many fun memories here so let's talk about our last one! Today, we took the subway to The Museum Of Natural History. At first, I didn't really know what this was and I thought it might be a little bit boring. But I was wrong! This place had so many things you can see! We first saw the Dinosaurs room. We saw cool fossils of all types of dinosaurs that lives on this planet years ago. Then, we saw many other cool animals that live across the world. We also learned some new history on people who lived in the old days. We then saw some cool science stuff about space and other things about the world. There were so many things here and I hope you could come here some day. Next, we took the subway to town. We spreaders out around Times Square to go do our last day of shopping. The one and only thing that I bought was this cool comic book about The Walking Dead! It was huge! It was also 60 dollars too! After that, we ate dinner at this sushi place. It was super good! We finally took the subway home and we said goodbye and thanks to Mr. M's friend, Uncle Shutai, and Mr. M's brother, uncle Ryan. Then, late at night we started packing for our trip home to Hawaii.
Hey guys!! Welcome back to another awesome day here in New York! It is actually one of my favorite days on my stay here! Here's why. Today we went to Chelsea Piers in Manhattan and also gone skating in Central Park! So, here's how the day went. We took the subway to town and walked to Chelsea Piers. Once we got in there, there was loud music playing with so many auctivities to do in there. From lazer tag to bowling, mini golfing, rock climbing and many more! First thing, our class paid to get in, dropped off our stuff and went to lazer tag! When we got in, we went and chose our teams. You were either on the red or blue. I was on blue. So, our teams had to go to our base and protect it. To win the game, your team needs to shoot their enemy or their enemies base. Me and erik said it felt like we were saving the world. After the game, we saw that our team won! After that, we went bowling. It was only me, Dalson, Destrey, Brent, Carter, Kallen, Erik and Kai. We had so much fun! I think I placed 3rd or 4th place. After that, we realized that the place closed earlier than normal so we headed to Central Park. In Central Park, all the kids decided they wanted to go skating for the rest of the day since most of us missed out when we we sick. I was one of them. So, we did. Once we got on, my feet was shaking! But I wasn't the only one. The kids who did this the last time like Dalson and Erik, they were so good! It made me look so bad! But, after 20 minutes of shaking and falling, I finally got the hang of it. After a while, I was so used to it that I could do it on my own and go super fast. But not that fast. It was super fun learning how to skate. When we were done, me and Erik wanted to go back skate again. When we went to town, we ate dinner. The cool thing that happened after dinner was that it snowed!! Everyone was so glad it snowed. Especially Taylor! On our snowy walk home, we finally got to bed for our next day. Also, quick note that today was my parents anniversary so they got a free ride in a carriage around the park.
Hi guys! Today, was a very awesome, adventurous day! We got to meet the statue herself, The Statue of Liberty! Also, we got to go through a tour of the World Trade Center where the 9/11 event happened. First off, we took the subway to town. Then, we went to take the ferry to lady Liberty. Again, it was super cold here. I think it was in the 30's or somewhere around there. The Statue was huge! I took lots of pics with my parents. Also, when we went to the World Trade Center, we saw these 2 huge things that showed exactly where the towers used to be. Inside the building, we took a tour and saw many pictures and videos about this tragic event.
Overall, today was super fun and I had a blast!
Hey guys!!! Today I stayed in one place and one place only! My hotel room. Yup, while the rest of the class went to the Museum of Moving Images and Central Park, me and 8 other kids rested because we were sick! So, nothing much to talk about today. But, I'll promise you I'll be all rested up for tomorrow's adventure to lady liberty. Also, I'd like to give a short "thank you" to all the chaperones who stayed back with us as well. So I'll see you guys in tomorrow's blog! Bye!
Happy Saint Patrick's day everyone! Today was a super cold day! And it's not even winter! Anyways, today we went to the Empire State Building, and also took a class on a dance for the Broadway show Matilda that we were gonna watch tonight. we woke up and ate some breakfast down in our hotel. Then, we took the subway to town. Then, we finally reached our first tour place, The Empire State Building. That building is humongous! We went all the way up I think 86 floors! Pretty high! You can pretty much see everything in New York City! When I was up there, we took lots of pictures with my friends and family too! Then, we got some good lunch at a new song place called Smash Burgers! I got a good milk shake there too. Now, this activity was kinda interesting. Our dance workshop! There was this cool guy who was formerly part of the Matilda Broadway Show who taught us a dance that was in the show. It was a super fun activity for all of us. Also, after the workshop, we got dinner and went to the Broadway show. The show we watched, Matilda, was awesome! The actors were awesome, the singing and dancing was great, and the story was so cool! If you go to New York, I suggest you go watch a Broadway, possibly this one. Anyways, that was it for today's cool New York Adventures and I'll see you in the next one. Bye!
Welcome back guys! Guess where I am! You probably know I'm in New York. Yup. It is super cold out here!!! But, here is our amazing flight here to New York. So, as we pack our bags in Atlanta. We made our way to the airport. I was so sad we were leaving but at the same time exited to go to the Big Apple. When we got on the plane, I sat next to Destrey and Herenui. Once we got out of the airport, guess who I saw!? My Mom and Dad. Yup, forgot to tell you that my parents our meeting up with us too. Also Kallen's mom is good friends with my parentes so she came too. When we got in our hotel, boy it is small. Yeah, small. To compare it to my parents hotel room, their bathroom was the size of our bedroom. But, it will
do. Mr. M met up with his friend who lives here and also his brother. We're lucky enough that they are gonna show us around town. That's all for today. I'll see you tomorrow on St. Patrick's Day! Bye!
Hey guys! Today was I am so exited to tell you about this awesome day. Today we went to The World Of Coca Cola, took a CNN tour, and went to the #1 aquarium in the US, the Atlanta Aquarium. So, here some more interesting info.
First stop, The world of Coca Cola. If you didn't know, Atanta is the home of Coke. When we got in, they instantly gave us free Coke. So, they also gave us some awesome background history on it. In addition, we got to taste all the Coke flavored around the world. Let's say it was very tasty. If you go there, I suggest you taste something called Beverly. Finally, we watched a 4-D show that took us on an adventure to find out the secret formula to Coke.
Next stop, CNN tour. This one they gave us a cool tour on the CNN Studios. We saw some interesting things on how they make the CNN news work. I also learned that CNN stood for Cable News Network. After that, we took a lunch stop there too.
Last but not least, the Atlanta Aquarium. Probably my favorite one of the day. We saw amazing sea animals from all across the ocean. From the fresh waters to the salt waters and the Atlantic oceans and the pacific oceans. Also, my favorite part over there was a dolphin show.
In conclusion, today was a great day to end our trip in here in Atlanta. I actually hope I come back some time. But, I'll see you guys in New York.
Hey Guys! Today we went to Georgia Tech University. There were cool trees and cool plants there. Today we Did a lot of walking. Also, today, we did a lot of shopping in town and also go sight seeing. Also, for dinner we are in a bar. Today was kinda slow but wait until tomorrow for some real fun. Bye!
Hey guys!!!!!!!! Your probably wondering,"Why so much exclamation marks?" Well, it's probably because today was probably one of the best days ever on this trip! Yup! Today we had two awesome, happy, memorable events. One, even though this event ends the 2016 STN Convention, we had our closing ceremonies today. We ended the convention with some honorable mentions and the winners of all the categories to go and congratulate them for all there hard work. The next big event that took place today was our one and only Six Flags day!!! That's right. So here are some more info on this awesome events.
First up, the closing ceremony of the STN 2016 Convention. Once we got in, all the schools including us were yelling and screaming are lungs out! We were super exited! Also, I forgot to tell you that Kallen was one of the presenters. Yup! So, everyone was exited as can be when they announced the winners. The first contest that they announced that we participated in was Convention Recap. Can you guess how they did? Guess what, SECOND PLACE!!! They did an awesome job! I know it's not as good as 1st but I am super proud of them! Then next was Spot Feature, they got...... SECOND PLACE as well!! Everyone was happy for these teams. From this point I forgot the order but here this. All the rest of the teams, Nat sound, Movie Trailer, PSA, Music Video and Anchoring, they all placed too! Every team got second place got Second Place except for 2 teams. PSA and another team(sorry I forgot) got 1st place?!!! Yup! Everyone was jumping up and down and screaming and yelling. Also, most of all the other Hawaiian teams placed as well. It was so cool because all the Hawaiian teams chanted," Hawaii, Hawaii, Hawaii!" I was so proud of everyone and for representing Hawaii and thanks for all the support and help from those back at home.
Now, like Mr M says,"when we work hard, we play hard." To celebrate these victories we went to one of the best roller coaster parks also known as Six Flags. Six flags is awesome! I remember the time when I went to Six Flags with my family in Dallas. My favorite ride was honestly all of them but if I were to choose one, I think it will be the Superman ride. It's where you basically get a taste of what it feels to be superman. They hold u so that your kinda hanging and you always see the floor.
So, today was an awesome day and I hope in the future we could have many more days like this in our lives. Once again, great job to our class and the rest of the Hawaii schools who won today. I'll see you guys in tomorrow's blog.
What's up guys! Aron here with h another amazing day to tell you guys about. So, today is day 5 and it is the third day of the STN competition. Yesterday, I told you the adventures that my nat sound team did. As a quick reflection, I am very proud of our team that we did our best and never gave up. I think the video did great. Also, stay tuned to see the video that will be posted on my blogs. Today, I did not compete but I did do these interesting breakout sessions. It's where these people teach us some skills and techniques on media and also shows us some cool films. That's pretty much what I'm gonna talk about besides the awesome NBA basketball game that I'll tell you about that later in this blog. So, here is what I learned in the sessions. I took 5 s sessions. In the first one, I learned how to film good interviews. In the second one, I learned how to find a interest story. The third one I learned different angles and sequences of shots to used. The fourth one, I learned how to find a good story in school, and the last one I learned Ned how to make a news story. After these breakout sessions, I think that it helped me a little so that I can use it for the future.
Now the basketball game. First off, it was Atlanta Hawks vs the Memphis Grizzlies. Once we got to the stadium, I heard loud music. Everyone there was so exited and hyper for this game. We got our tickets and went in. It was crowded. We got food and sat in our seats. I love as so exit d because it was my first NBA basketball game as well as others. Once the game started, everyone was cheering,"Let's go Hawks, let's go Hawks. It was cool how the players look more interesting to watch then on TV. Also, during halftime and timeouts. They had some funny and cool events. There was a shooting contest. And cool dunks. Also, there were things like the kissing cam. Everyone was so romantic when it came to that. Especially the man who asked his girlfriend if they would like to be married. Yup! And yes, she said yes!
After this game, I thought it was a super cool experience and also a fun time. Don't forget to stay tuned tomorrow for my next blog about our STN closing ceremony and our adventures at Six Flags!!!! Bye!
